If you already read my "about me" on the home page, I'll try not to bore you with needless facts or details here. (Continues to do so)
My name is Running Bear (first name) Hernandez (last name). Majority of people just call me Bear. If you couldn't tell, I am a fitness coach, trainer, blah blah blah. I help people in the gym with my ever-growing knowledge 🤓.
Served 5 years in the Marine Corps. Worked at BMW of San Antonio for 4 1/2 years, then started Remain Brazen LLC (2021). I am a father to 3 gremlins/pains in the asses.
Health/fitness wasn't always my passion. It sort of just grew on me. Although, health was always a haunting topic, seeing how majority of my family/relatives had some sort of health issue, relied on medication or had frequent hospital visits.
I was a toothpick growing up. Super active kid (nerd). Played violin from 5th grade through sophomore year. Never played sports for school. Dabbled in BMX, because I always busted my ass on a skateboard. It wasn't until I joined the military that I finally put some weight on.
I attended The College of Health Care Professions for my Rehab Therapy Technician certification, which was actually the push into me finally deciding to obtain my credential as a CPT (Certified Personal Trainer) through ISSA. Which is sort of funny, because NASM is more in line with the physical therapy side of things, but, oh 🐋. Regardless, since I didn't plan on working for a gym, I had the freedom of choice for my certification. I say this because NASM is apparently the "gold standard". It's honestly just whatever gym you'd like to work for, what they prefer. Moreover, also depends on what populace you'd like to work for/with. I have my CRTT, which keeps my foot in the door for the Physical Therapy Rehab side of things (which I keep up-to-date).
Fitness has definitely become a huge part of who I am now, but you will not catch me talking about it unless asked about it. I'm not THAT guy that only talks about the gym. Nor am I judging when it comes to whatever food you're eating if we're out and about. Trust me, I do not care. I myself do not eat strictly "clean" or avoid carbs, sugars, etc. Hell, I'd be a liar if I said I even ate clean 85% of the time. I have my hoodrat snacks (big red floats, hot cheetos/pickles, baby lucas/hot cheetos). If I'm hungry, I'm eating whatever I'm in the mood for, just being cognizant of my intake (calories/protein).
For those that know me personally, know that I am an absolute fool and enjoy a good laugh and making people laugh, even at my own expense. Laughter is also part of Health, so I embrace it.
Well, I feel like that was a good enough rant.
Have the day you deserve 🐻🤘🏽💚
